Some Comfort…
I finally finished a chemo hat for Titi. I gave her the Odessa Hat I’d made a few months ago but it wasn’t snug enough. So I made this (she wanted something warm/snug/with a roll-up brim BUT she wanted beads - something to “snazz it up” - lol):
Here is the Hubby modeling the hat last night (I know Titi would never allow me to photograph her at this point in her life):
It’s hard to get all the beads to show at once, they tend to want to hide in the curve of the cable a bit.
Here’s a pic of it laying flat on the table - the color isn’t true here - the true color is more like the picture above:
Pattern:
3 AM Cable Hat - my friend Becky found the pattern for me on Ravelry (which I LOVE that place by the way)!
Needles: Size 6 circs/Dpns
Yarn: Elann’s Peruvian Alpaca
Notions: size 6 beads - maybe a 1/3rd of the container - not many at all - I just added a bead in the center of each cable.
The pattern took maybe 4 days but considering I don’t knit much (maybe 20 mins on work nights) it would have been done in a day if I had a whole day to concentrate on it.
I’m giving it to her tonight. I know she’ll love it. She’s on her 5th of 13 scores of chemo treatment - she’s lost “ALL” of her hair - she’s completely bald…it’s been hard on her - so very hard…but she’s such a trooper…please keep her in your prayers and thoughts it means so much.
Now I’m back to finishing the baby blanket…

Very pretty hat. I’m sure this is a hard time for your family. You are all still in my prayers and I pray that Titi continues to have strength through this ordeal.

It’s a perfect hat for her Esther. She’ll love it. My Mom lost all of her hair really fast too. She hated it. It grew right back when chemo was over. All my best to your Grandmother.

It looks great Esther. I know Titi will love it. Hopefully over the weekend that pkg I mailed will arrive and she’ll have a couple others to add to her wardrobe.

Your Titi will love her new hat, a little sparkle to brighten her day. I hope despite her hair loss that she is feeling OK physically. Hugs to you and your family — I know it must be hard.
