Something Finished - Something Started
Finally a finished knitting project to show! I finished up an “Anything Goes” (or AG Scarf) designed by Becky.
Pattern:
Anything Goes (AG) Scarf
Yarn:
(1) skein each of misti alpaca in colors 7120 and NT-408
Needles:
size 11
The daughter modeling for me {grin}
What’s really nice about this is that it’s so light/airy that it fits the hot/humid weather down here.
I also finally started my first clue of the Mystery Shawl 3 KAL! I LOVE it so far - I’m about 2/3 of the way done with the first clue (I know, I know, I’m a bit behind but I’ll catch up!):
Yarn:
Zephyr Silk Blend Lace Wt. - purchased online from Sarah’s Yarns
Needles:
size 3 circulars
Notions
Black pearlized beads
Without stretching it at all I figured you could see the beads a bit more:
It feels great to be knitting lace again. It’s been a while and I’m ashamed to admit I still have my Hiawatha Lace Stole on the needles hidden in a corner to avoid the guilt…lol
Also, I just “inherited” kind of my grandmother’s sewing machine/table. Even before she was diagnosed her arthritis was getting to be too much for her and she hasn’t sewn in about a year. This weekend she told me she knew she wouldn’t be sewing and she wanted me to have the table/machine. This is amazing - she’s practically a professional seamstress, she’s sewn wedding dresses, baby clothes, curtains, upholstery you name it - she’s done it and beyond skillfully. She has a Kennmore Sewing Machine (the model escapes me now but it does everything apparently except sing - lol) and it comes with as a built-in to a great sewing table. She sent me all her thread/notions/everything stocked as she had it. I’m giddy.
I’ll be posting a pic of that sometime this week.
Also - please check out this blog - she’s collecting donations for her walk for a cure for breast cancer and in return she’s providing giving everyone that donates a beautiful sock pattern. Please check her out: Campanula

Hey Esther! Love the scarves. I started one, but I’m trying to finish up a couple of things too (and I picked yarn that looks like thread, so progress is slow to see). Your daughter is lovely, and looking so grown up!
Oh, I am supposed to be in the MS3 too. I have my needles, yarn and beads but haven’t had the time to cast on yet, so you won’t be last by a long shot! I am determined to get started this week.

Beautiful scarf! And you’re making good progress on your MS3 too. You’ve been busy. I joined MS3 but haven’t started yet, so you’re beating me anyway!
I can’t wait to see you sewing machine! It’ll be fun getting to know it.

The scarf is loverrrly girl! : ) And so is Emy. I do think you ought to model some of your creations yourself though. We love you no matter what ya know. : )
