Belated Happy Valentines!
It’s been a busy couple of weeks - work, everyone at home with different stages of the same cold we can’t seem to shake off, and all the other life stuff that just happens.
The night before Valentines I came home to this:
Since he works midnights and was afraid he wouldn’t get my card/flowers on time he left them waiting for me the night before…needless to say, that made my day.
On the knitting front, started a plain jane top down sweater for my mom, but I wasn’t too thrilled with it 3/4 of the way through so it went to the frog pond - not worth even posting a pic of it. Apparently what she really wants is sort of a poncho with sleeve openings and buttons down the front?? LOL…so when I find the right pattern I’ll start again.
This weekend my dear friend came over and we had a little long weekend slumber party. We took the kids to see Bridge to Tarabithia (sweet movie) and then lazed around watching movies and enjoying the chilly weather. Whimsy (our cat) loves her as you can see:
On the knitting front, I plan on casting on for thermal tomorrow but need to decide on which color, maybe you can help me….which one do you like more?
I’m having a hard time deciding.
Since I was being lazy and didn’t want to start a new project when my buddy was here, I picked up the dreaded Hiawatha again.. and I am happy to say I FINALLY finished the first 1/2! But my gosh, take a look - I did NOT stretch it out - it is pinned right where it is just to keep it from curling but it is not stretched out and it takes up the length of my “largest” sofa:

Close up of top portion (the purple is the provisional cast on - I’ll now have to p/up those stitches and knit the EXACT mirror imagine down the opposite side):

Needless to say, it will be a WHILE before this puppy is done !
Another “happy” for Valentines was from my buddy Becky, she MADE this beautiful trivet for my kitchen and a door sign for my daughter’s room look!:

Now, I’m watching Extreme Home Makeover - this week they are helping a family with FIVE autistic children… I have one autistic child and can’t imagine what they are going through so the box of kleenex is by my sofa ready to go.
Tomorrow is a play day here - no school and no work so I’m hoping to get some knitting done and MAYBE rile up the courage to get that spinning wheel moving (grin).
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

it’s really hard to say which color would be perfect for you. I think both would look great with your coloring. I love the red, but also love the woodland sage too. I just don’t know! I think whichever you choose would be good.
